MLG Attach Bolts

This page is on the subject of the Illustrated Parts Catalog possibly showing the wrong bolt callout for several year models.
The bolt in question is the AN8 (1/2") bolt at the outboard end of the Main Landing Gear attachment fittings. It can be viewed with the sump cover removed.
Here is what the wrong bolt looks like installed into the upper forged bracket and the "C" shaped bracket. Note that the threaded portion is all that is able to go into the spar.
This is what an AN8-16A looks like inserted into the same brackets. Note that the shoulder of the bolt sticks out and would bear against the hole in the spar, and not the threads, as shown in the previous picture.
Here is a comparison of the OEM installed AN8-13A, and the correct grip length AN8-16A.
Here is a picture from inside the spar showing the correct AN8-16A bolt nearest the camera. Note the amount of thread protruding from the anchor nut. If the incorrect bolt had been used no thread would be showing.
