Why is it AA-1A, AA-5B, etc. and yet its AG5B?

They are all listed on the Type Certificate with a dash in the model.

The only time there is no dash between the letters and number is in the serial number.

Then the convention is AA1-0001 or AG5B-10001. --Bob Steward

It's my fault. When I began editing the AYA Star in 1995, I observed that the convention there seemed to be no dash, and I've continued that for all this time. I wanted to be consistent, and anyway, it looks better in print. I realize some of the official documents use the dash. --sbw
