Welcome to my user page! My name is Jason Bowman. I have owned N9749U since April 2004, but it's been down way longer than it's been flying. Let's just say you get what you pay for. I'm putting together a project page for the restoration work I'm doing on her even as I write this. So enough of that.
My professional background is aeronautical engineering, and my expertise is in aircraft performance and conceptual design. I do have some knowledge of aircraft handling qualities. My "unprofessional" background is tinkerer, so restoring my plane is quite natural to me. Fortunately, I've had two IAs willing to show me the ropes, and Bob Steward has been an invaluable resource as well. And since I didn't think fixing one airplane was enough, I got involved with The Wright Stuff Squadron restoring and maintaining a Cessna T-50 with the Commemorative Air Force. I also designed and maintain the squadron website.
I've contributed several articles to Bondline and hope to contribute more as time and material permits. I'm also a regular contributor to the Grumman Gang.
